Using Oil Based Facial Cleanser to Clean your Skin

When cleaning our face, we as humans automatically rush to soaps. We want to see suds to believe our face is getting clean. If we do not see lather, bubbles, and/or suds we are led to believe our face is still dirty. Well that’s where I tell you THAT IS NOT THE CASE.

Traditional cleansers can irritate your skin, causing excessive dryness, exacerbating acne, and ultimately lead your skin to produce more oil after washing causing excess sebum. Oily skin causes people to over cleanse their face, in turn, causes more oil production. Most of the products geared toward oily skin are focused on removing dirt and oil, which can actually make things worse.

Using oils instead of traditional soap or detergent cleansers can also help protect the natural lipid layer of the skin and the “good” bacteria within your skin.

Clogged pores can lead to pimples. It can take form of blackheads, whiteheads, or skin-toned color bumps, and are caused when the pores of your skin becomes clogged with oil, debris, and dirt. Oil cleansers can

•Lift excess sebum, the oily substance produced by glands on your skin.

•Clean out clogged pores, like blackheads and whiteheads to reduce breakouts.

•Remove dead skin, pollutants, and gently remove makeup while soothing sensitive skin.

When we talk about sebum, it is an oily substance produced by your body’s sebaceous glands. It coats, moisturizes, and protects your skin. Sebum is a complex mixture of fatty acids, sugars, waxes, and other natural chemicals that form a protective barrier against water evaporation. Having the right amount of sebum is essential as it protects your skin from environmental hazards and infectious agents like bacteria and fungi. It helps keep your skin hydrated, moisturized, and lubricated. It seals in moisture on your skin, which helps prevent dry skin.

Using an oil cleanser has an enormous amount of benefits that will not strip your skin of its natural protective barrier nor alter your pH balance.
